Scholarships

The Hospitality Industry Education Foundation (HIEF) awards scholarships in excess of $30,000 each year to students pursuing a career in the hospitality industry. These scholarships enable the next generation of leaders to meet the growing need for a skilled workforce in the hospitality industry.

Many of these scholarships are supported and funded by industry partners and many are given in the name of industry heroes who have since passed away. Please contact Victoria Sanchez Martinez, HIEF Executive Director (education@nmrestaurants.org), if you are interested in funding a scholarship in your company's name or to establish a memorial scholarship.

Memorial Scholarships

Our most recent memorial scholarships were established in honor of William "Bill" Keller, who passed away in October of 2008 and Robert Duderstadt, who passed away in November of 2008. Both of these gentlemen made significant contributions to the restaurant industry in New Mexico and they will be sorely missed. If you would like to contribute to their Memorial Scholarship Funds,  click on the links below or contact HIEF at 505-343-9848.
