Dear NMRA Members,
As 2025 comes to a close, I want to take a moment to recognize each of you—the dedicated restaurant owners, chefs, managers, and hospitality professionals who make New Mexico’s dining scene one of the most vibrant and resilient in the country. This year, like the past few before it, has tested our industry in ways few could have imagined. From rising food costs and staffing shortages to the continual balancing act between meeting guest expectations and maintaining profitability, managing a restaurant today requires a combination of heart, creativity, and sheer determination.
Yet through it all, you have shown what makes New Mexico’s restaurant community exceptional. You have adapted, innovated, and found ways to not only keep your doors open but to keep your spirit alive. I’ve seen restaurants reinvent menus, strengthen their teams with mentoring and flexibility, and step up in their communities to lend a hand where it’s most needed. These moments remind us that our industry isn’t just about food—it’s about people, connection, and the shared experiences that bring us together.
At NMRA, our mission has been to support you every step of the way. Whether we’ve advocated for restaurant-friendly policies at the state capitol, provided tools to help navigate workforce challenges, or offered training and resources to streamline operations, our work is grounded in one goal: to make sure your business—and our entire industry—can thrive. We’ve seen encouraging progress this year in areas such as small-business support and workforce development, thanks to our members’ unified voice.
As we look ahead to 2026, I’m filled with both gratitude and optimism. The landscape will continue to change, but I believe we are stronger now than ever before. Together, we’ve built a network of restaurateurs who understand that collaboration is key to sustainability. We’ll keep pushing for policies that make it easier to do business in New Mexico, keep investing in resources that make operations more efficient, and keep celebrating the diverse flavors and voices that define our state’s culinary culture.
Thank you for your hard work, your resilience, and your commitment to excellence.
