We’re Hiring a Chief Executive Officer
The New Mexico Restaurant Association (NMRA) is searching for an exceptional leader to serve as our next Chief Executive Officer. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead New Mexico’s premier restaurant and foodservice industry association at a pivotal moment in our history.
The New Mexico Restaurant Association is the leading voice for New Mexico’s restaurant and foodservice industry. For decades, we have worked to drive prosperity across the food and beverage sector, strengthen communities, and support the jobs and businesses that make our state’s hospitality industry thrive.
The CEO serves as NMRA’s chief managing officer and most visible public representative. This role is evenly split between internal leadership and external advocacy — guiding our team, finances, and member relations while championing the industry before state and local governments.
This is not just a management position. It is a platform to shape policy, build relationships, and make a lasting impact on one of New Mexico’s most vital industries.
Lead the Organization
- Direct daily operations, staff leadership, and organizational culture
- Support board governance and serve as ex officio member of all committees
- Carry out strategic priorities established by the Board of Directors
Manage Finances
- Oversee Association funds and ensure sound financial controls
- Partner with the Treasurer and Finance Committee on the annual budget and audit
Advocate for the Industry
- Lead lobbying efforts before state and local government bodies
- Negotiate with lawmakers, agencies, and public officials on behalf of New Mexico’s restaurant community
- Represent NMRA in media, legislative, member, and community settings
- Build and sustain relationships with members, partners, and public officials
The ideal candidate is an experienced, respected executive with a genuine passion for New Mexico’s restaurant and hospitality community.
You must:
- Reside in New Mexico and be deeply familiar with the challenges facing the restaurant industry
- Have a proven record of successful lobbying and advocacy with state and local officials
- Bring strong executive leadership and organizational management experience
- Have experience working with boards, committees, and volunteer leaders
- Demonstrate sound financial judgment and operational excellence
- Be an exceptional communicator, relationship builder, and public speaker
The salary range for this position is $120,000 – $140,000. Compensation and employment terms are established by the Executive Committee.
