When training valuable employees, DO try and separate your training days into half class time and half floor time, allowing your trainees to learn important skills and restaurant specifics, and then having them apply what they have learned in a real setting. DON’T, however, place a trainee with just anyone when they are on the floor, because this could lead to misinformation about your restaurant. You want to make sure and place trainees with some of your experienced and best employees so that they learn the ropes the way you prefer.
